When did you join Gardiner’s and what is your background in care?
My first job on leaving school was with the Prudential in Reading, I was there for 10 years when I left to start my family. I have been friends with the Gardiner family since my early twenties and was encouraged by Dorothy and Rose Gardiner to join the team in 1993, and have been here ever since! I also have worked as a carer for Gardiner’s at the same time but now job share with Rose on reception.
Why the care industry?
Working in the care can be a very rewarding job, I am very much a people person and get great satisfaction in being able to help make people’s lives easier, using kindness and empathy is very important when they first contact an agency.
What makes Gardiner’s Homecare different?
Gardiners is different, it’s special, we have a great team in the office and great carers out with our clients, many go over and beyond with their care. We are carrying on with Dorothy and Gus’ passion of care. I am very proud to still be a part of Gardiner’s.
What are your five favourite things?
I love spending time with my family and friends who have always been there for me through difficult times along with everyone at work. I enjoy visiting Historical places and the seaside. I do enjoy food and I love watching rugby.
