When did you join Gardiner’s and what is your background in care?
I joined Gardiner’s as a Care Worker in November 2016 and became a Senior Care Worker in June 2018. Previously, I worked with adults with learning and physical difficulties supporting them in their own homes and prior to that nearly 15 years experience working in various children’s residential homes.
Why the care industry?
I decided that a job in care would be more rewarding so applied for and got the position of residential care worker at Priors Court working with young people with autism. I have since worked with young people with learning and physical difficulties and more recently children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
What makes Gardiner’s Homecare different?
I hadn’t worked in homecare before but heard many great things about Gardiner’s.
What’s your proudest achievement?
Going up in a small aeroplane and actually having a turn at flying it, very briefly!
What are your five favourite things?
- Chilling out with a good book.
